1
Place the wild turkey leg and thigh into a crock pot and cook on low for 6–8 hours, or until tender and falling off the bone. Remove turkey from the crock pot, shred the meat, and set aside. Reserve the turkey broth if using.
2
In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the softened butter until incorporated.
3
Pour in milk and mix until a dough forms. Add extra flour as needed until the dough is no longer sticky.
4
Knead the dough for 1–2 minutes. Roll dough out thin and cut into roughly 1-inch squares.
5
In a large pot, bring 6 cups of turkey broth or chicken broth to a gentle simmer. Add in chicken chicken bouillon. Drop dumplings into the simmering broth and gently stir.
6
Add 1 cup of milk, cover, and simmer for 12 minutes. Add shredded turkey meat back into the pot.
7
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Stir slurry into the pot and simmer another 5–10 minutes until thickened.
8
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot and enjoy!
